Job Title: English and Twi Tutor

1. Job Purpose

The English and Twi Tutor is responsible for planning and delivering effective English Language and Twi lessons to primary school pupils in accordance with the approved curriculum of the school.

The Tutor is expected to develop pupils' competence in listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension, while fostering confidence, creativity, cultural awareness and effective communication. The teacher shall also contribute to the school's Christian values, discipline and overall academic development.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching and Lesson Preparation
Plan and deliver well-structured English Language and Twi lessons in accordance with the NaCCA/GES curriculum.
Prepare lesson plans, teaching and learning materials and other instructional resources before lessons.
Use appropriate learner-centred methods to make lessons engaging, practical and relevant.
Teach pupils according to their age, ability and individual learning needs.
Develop pupils' vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, spelling and communication skills.
Teach reading comprehension, creative writing, composition, oral language and other relevant language skills.
Develop pupils' ability to read, write and communicate effectively in Twi.
Use stories, poems, songs, role-play, discussions and other activities to enhance language learning.
Incorporate appropriate technology and digital resources into lessons where applicable.
B. English Language Responsibilities

The Tutor shall help pupils develop proficiency in:

Oral communication and effective speaking.
Reading fluency and comprehension.
Vocabulary development.
Grammar and correct sentence construction.
Spelling and punctuation.
Handwriting and written expression.
Creative writing and composition.
Listening and comprehension.
Public speaking, presentations and discussions.
C. Twi Language Responsibilities

The Tutor shall:

Teach Twi according to the approved curriculum and appropriate level of the pupils.
Develop pupils' ability to speak and understand Twi.
Teach reading and writing in Twi.
Develop pupils' vocabulary and correct use of Twi expressions.
Teach appropriate grammar, sentence construction and spelling.
Introduce pupils to Twi literature, folktales, proverbs, songs and other forms of indigenous literary expression.
Promote appreciation of Ghanaian language, culture and traditions.
Encourage pupils to use Twi appropriately and confidently.
D. Assessment and Academic Monitoring
Conduct regular class exercises, quizzes, assignments, dictation, oral activities, tests and examinations.
Mark pupils' work accurately and promptly.
Provide constructive feedback to improve pupils' language skills.
Keep accurate records of pupils' academic performance.
Identify pupils who require additional support and provide appropriate interventions.
Monitor individual pupil progress throughout the term.
Participate in the preparation of examination questions and other approved assessments.
Contribute to the preparation of pupils' termly reports.
E. Classroom Management
Maintain a disciplined, orderly and stimulating learning environment.
Establish clear classroom rules and expectations.
Encourage active participation and respectful communication among pupils.
Manage disruptive behaviour fairly and professionally.
Ensure that pupils use classroom materials and school property responsibly.
Supervise pupils appropriately during assigned lessons and activities.
Report serious disciplinary or welfare concerns to the appropriate school authority.
F. Reading and Literacy Development
Encourage pupils to develop a regular reading habit.
Support school literacy programmes and reading initiatives.
Recommend age-appropriate reading materials.
Organise reading, spelling, vocabulary and language activities where appropriate.
Identify pupils with reading difficulties and provide additional support.
Encourage pupils to express themselves clearly and confidently.
G. Christian Values and Character Development

As a teacher at a Christian school, the Tutor shall:

4. Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
A minimum of a Diploma in Basic Education (DBE), Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), or another relevant recognised teaching qualification.
Specialisation or demonstrated competence in English Language and/or Twi is an advantage.
Relevant teaching experience at the primary level is preferred.
Good knowledge of the NaCCA/GES curriculum.
Excellent spoken and written English.
Proficiency in spoken and written Twi appropriate to the level being taught.
Ability to use basic ICT tools for teaching and assessment.
Demonstrated commitment to the school's Christian values and professional standards.

The Tutor is expected to work collaboratively with other teachers and management while exercising appropriate professional judgement in the classroom.

1. Job Purpose

The Primary School Class Teacher is responsible for providing effective teaching and learning, maintaining a positive and disciplined classroom environment, monitoring pupils' academic and personal development, and supporting the overall vision and Christian values of Glorious Stars International School.

The teacher is expected to create a safe, nurturing, engaging and inclusive learning environment in which every pupil is encouraged to develop academically, socially, emotionally, morally and spiritually.

2. Key Responsibilities
A. Teaching and Learning
Plan and deliver well-structured lessons in accordance with the NaCCA/GES curriculum and the school's approved schemes of work.
Prepare appropriate lesson plans, teaching and learning resources before lessons.
Use a variety of learner-centred teaching methods to accommodate different abilities and learning styles.
Integrate appropriate ICT and educational technology into teaching and learning.
Explain concepts clearly and use practical examples and activities to promote understanding.
Encourage pupils to ask questions, think critically, solve problems and participate actively in lessons.
Provide appropriate support and differentiated activities for pupils with different learning needs.
Ensure that lessons begin and end on time.
Complete the required curriculum content within the prescribed academic period.
B. Assessment and Academic Monitoring
